Circa 19th century inlaid brass and wood jewelry/storage box. Delightful old hand made inlaid brass nautical design box. This box was probably designed for someone of prominence in the Naval forum. Exquisite 2 inch inlaid brass anchors surrounded by brass inlaid corners on each of the front doors attached by brass hinges. Inside the box the upper and lower wood panels are rustically hand carved. The curio type box has four wood block legs attached by screws and truly is a quality piece of craftsmanship. From a collection of miniature curio boxes from the 18th and 19th century.
