Circa 1700's Decorated right Handed Broad Axe. This Axe has maker's marks, an eight pointed star and a large tree of life with 11 points in lower left hand corner. This axe has an almost exact replica example found in "Hammered symbols on axes and other forged products" by Gustl Reinthaler, page 37 #61. A wonderful display piece and handle is tight, blade edge has a small 3/8th" chip which could be ground off during resharpening. Truly a master cooper or wood craftsman specialty axe.
