The pewter tankard or flagon commemorates the accomplishments of one of the greatest captain of history. Eugend of Savoy was born in Paris France on the 18th of October 1663. As his mother had fallen out of grace with the then King Louis XIV he attached himself to the Emperor Leopold I and became on of the greatest commanders on the European scene until his death at 72 years of age in 1736. This tankard commemorated a man of 36 years of age and in his prime, even though his successes continued throughout his career. A fantastic piece with a large rosette on the inside bottom of the tankard and of great historical significance.
