In the cold winter nights in a small peasant village, a Master craftman blacksmith worked long hours to create this wonderful wrought iron masterpiece. This wonderful hand forged adjustable Inglenook cooking pot hanger or hook is decorated from the hands of a craftsman. Very primitive design including a star and zig zag pattern which we suspect to be from the 18th century or before. This hanger wood be placed in the fireplace and would be raised or lowered depending on the heat of the coals and the cooking temperature of the pot desired. Absolutely a unique piece of primitive Americana or early heritage.
