Circa early 1700's heavy brass pharmaceutical mortar and pestle. This is a handsome larger brass mortar with pestle. Covered heavily with aged patina. We have tried to retain the patina while lightly cleaning. One can only imagine the concoctions and portents that were created in these ancient pieces of medical/pharmaceutical history.
