Circa mid 1700's heavy brass pharmaceutical mortar and pestle with flared square handles. Nice turnings on the body of Both pieces. One of our heavier and larger brass mortar with pestle. Covered heavily with aged Blue patina. We have tried to retain the patina while lightly cleaning. Truly a unique piece of medical and Pharmaceutical History.
One can only imagine the concoctions and portents that were created in these ancient pieces of medical/pharmaceutical history. Great piece for that vintage collector or start your own fine collection of unique and rare brass Mortar's and pestle's. Has a great loud clear ring like a expensive made brass bell.
