Maritime sailing block and tackle purchased in the Great Lakes region. The Hook and hanger are BlackSmith hand forged steel. The wood block has an inch of wax from years of someone using it as a candle holder, very old wax and makes a wonderful wax floral type design. Great nautical piece of history, larger and heavier than most, but a delightful display piece. (This is an original wood block and tackle and we at Old World Heirlooms do not suggest the buyer to use this piece as a candle holder as it was used in the past. Used as a candleholder and unmonitered would very well constitute a fire hazard and possibly a life threatening situation).
