THIS ITEM IS SOLD Circa late 1800's Hand Crafted Sea Farers Storage Trunk. This coffin style storage chest or trunk was often used by immigrants to ship there belongings across the ocean as they traveled abroad, many times to escape persecution or look for a better life. Steel plate for strength on Corners and lid. Very nice large sturdy primitive trunk with large hand wrought iron handles. polished finish. This piece has a large storage capacity and inside contains a false wall with hidden drawers or compartments, will display nicely in any decor.
