18th Century Decorated Very Rare Barrel Latch
Part Number TBL-01-003E
Beautiful very rare barrel latch.   Ornate engraved design of  X 's and lines on top and a dot in the middle on each end of latch which is in the shape of the ace of spades.   A barrel bolt is the designated timber or metal bar which secures the draft doors at the front of larger drums against the pressure exerted by the liquid inside   The draft door is used to empty barrel and cleaned. Shows signs of use and age - please see pictures.
