18th Century Barrel Latch with Makers Mark
Part Number TBL-01-008E
Rustic barrel latch.  Very Ornate engraved design of squares on top, and on each latch end, that resembles a crown, there are the maker's mark letters SK.  A barrel bolt is the designated timber or metal bar which secures the draft doors at the front of larger drums against the pressure exerted by the liquid inside   The draft door is used to empty barrel and cleaned. Shows signs of use and age - please see pictures.
