Vintage late 1800's oil lantern.  The tin vent roof has a nice flared shape with pierced hole decorations.   Has a nice sized window for optimum light displacement.  You can unhinge the top and pull out to refill oil or adjust wick, also you can open just the front to light it; with handle on top for easy use.  Overall the tin is a dark patina from age and many years of use.
